A Wearable Watches Your Blood While Hackers Watch Everything Else

The FDA has cleared the first wearable that tracks both ketone and blood sugar levels at once, a milestone for at-home metabolic monitoring that until now required separate devices or lab draws.

Security news kept piling up: the DOJ seized domains it says Chinese state-sponsored hackers used to breach NASA, the Senate, and the Federal Reserve, while CISA confirmed attackers hit more than 100 US water systems in July. Boston Scientific reported a cyberattack causing a 'global disruption' to operations, and OpenAI says it disrupted a fresh covert influence campaign originating from Russia.

On the lighter side, someone got Claude running Doom, CoMaps kept guiding rescuers through Venezuela with zero signal, and MNT followed its open-hardware laptops with a matching desktop case. A Raspberry Pi cyberdeck build and a New Atlas report on ordinary Wi-Fi identifying people with near-100% accuracy round out a day heavy on both hacking and hardware.
