Amazon's Drones Go Nationwide, China Sticks the Landing

Amazon says Prime Air delivery drones will reach roughly 500 US neighborhoods by the end of 2026, with Chicago and Atlanta joining the rollout now. On the defense side, New Atlas reports on an AI-guided chain gun that fires steerable bullets designed to shred drone swarms out of the sky — the offense and defense of the same technology arriving in the same news cycle.

In orbit, China's Landspace recovered a booster on just the second orbital launch of its Zhuque-3 rocket, a fast turnaround for reusable hardware. NASA is testing a featherweight radar antenna meant for a future SkyFall Mars helicopter, while ESA released a flyover of Mars Express imagery over Schiaparelli Crater and detailed how its Hera mission's Deimos flyby is informing asteroid impact studies.

Elsewhere: GrapheneOS says supported devices should ship in 2027, someone mapped Britain's rail network to use as a giant flatbed scanner, and T-Mobile confirmed it literally cut a cable to physically expel Chinese hackers from its network. TerraPower, meanwhile, is pitching its nuclear reactor design as the fix for AI data centers' power appetite.
