An AI Wrote Its Own Cyberattack, and Voyager Finds Two More Years of Power

Israeli security firm reports the first fully autonomous AI-driven cyberattack, with an open-source-built tool that devised and adjusted hack strategies in real time against Taiwan's government, no human in the loop. Elsewhere, someone is running mass vulnerability scans while spoofing the user-agent of ClaudeBot and other AI crawlers, muddying attribution for anyone watching logs. Anthropic's own tools moved the other way today: Claude Cowork now runs inside a Chrome sidebar.

Out past the heliosphere, Voyager engineers squeezed two more years out of a 50-year-old power budget by rethinking margins nobody had touched since launch. On Earth, two hydrogen-burning engines pushed a car to a new land speed record. And astronomers logged three supermassive black holes in a single galaxy for the first time, while JWST turned up what may be the earliest known 'black hole star' at cosmic dawn.

On the ground: Tailscale traced a database corruption bug back sixteen years to a SQLite WAL-reset flaw, a researcher published a new Windows zero-day after Microsoft threatened legal action over it, and a Wired report details a coin-sized device that can hack a Boeing 737. For builders, Delphi 13 Community Edition shipped, Arduino rolled out code-writing assistance in its IDE, and the TR-808 got new open-source firmware plus a hardware mod timed to #808day.
